winter rain

It feels like forever since I put up an outfit post on here. I should really find a tripod ASAP. Or at least a semi-willing victi-- I mean, photographer.

Christmas was fabulous and I really regret not getting more pictures of decorations and outfits. No wish list for me this year, but I still got quite a few amazing gifts. I'll do a blog post on them soon.

With my two older siblings home for the holidays, we ended up taking a family portrait. Strangely enough, we all ended up matching in some way and most of it was totally accidental. My two brothers and I wore a black top, the same coloured pants, and a brown belt. Two of my sisters wore black pants, black shoes, and a dark blue shirt. Seeing this, the rest of my family ended up matching to one set or the other.

These pants were actually bought in the guy section of Bluenotes. I've always had difficult finding skinny jeans that fit well. Almost every pants I try end up being too tight around the thighs, yet too loose around the hips and lower leg. I tried these because I've been looking for some in this colour and my sister was as well. I didn't expect much. But I loved them! They actually fit. Plus, guy pants have huge pockets! I can actually fit my phone in there no problem as well as my whole hand and almost my entire wallet. I love it! Girl pant pockets can only hold like two dimes. I have been converted. Watch out, boys.

In any case, hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and New Years Eve/Day!

outfit of the month // december

With Christmas only a week and a half away, holiday parties have become a regular occurrence. I haven't actually gone to any yet, and I will be unable to attend the one we'll be having in our own home due to work. However, if I had to pick an outfit to wear to one, this is what I would wear. I enjoy how it the outfit is red, green, and gold, while not conforming to the specific shades that are usually pinned to the holidays. It is a way of being traditional while still staying away from being too predictable.

Dress: Hampton's Holiday Dress
Tights: Evening's Aura Tights
Shoes: Breathe Prestige Heel in Evergreen

outfit of the month // november

Christmas is almost here! Gifts have been bought, garlands have been weaved, and the tree has been put up... ah, the sweet sweet sense of the holidays. Nothing even comes close to the comfort and peace that comes with sitting in front of a roaring fire, a good book in one hand and a cup of tea in the other, blankets all around and a twinkling tree shining brightly from the corner of an otherwise dark room, as a blistering blizzard rages just outside. I am convinced there is nothing better...

Blouse: Wing Your Praises (Modcloth)
Cardigan: By All Gleams (Modcloth)
Jeans: Gotta Jet Set (Modcloth
Boots: Buckle Up, Chum! (Modcloth)
Necklace: For All We Know (Ruche)
Bracelet: Lovely Indie Cuff (Ruche)
The past few weeks have been crazy. More work, more school, more writing (Nanowrimo). For once, I look to the holidays and think "...it will be so relaxing."
